DEMGY at COMPAMED 2026: Discover the APOLLO Project, an Organ-on-Chip innovation for biotherapeutics

Exhibitions

From November 16 to 19, 2026, DEMGY will be exhibiting at COMPAMED in Düsseldorf, the international trade show for medical industry suppliers and technologies.

Meet our teams at booth 8BG10 and discover APOLLO, an innovative automated Organ-on-Chip platform dedicated to the preclinical evaluation of biopharmaceuticals.

See you at COMPAMED 2026

DEMGY remains committed to the MedTech community and will participate in COMPAMED 2026, November 16–19 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

This international trade show will be an opportunity to meet our experts and discover the Group’s expertise in the development and industrialization of high-precision polymer components for the medical sector.

This year, one of the highlights of our participation will be the presentation of the APOLLO project, to which DEMGY Frasne contributes its expertise in micro-machining, micro-injection molding, microfluidics, and high-performance polymers.

APOLLO: Accelerating the Preclinical Evaluation of Biotherapies

APOLLO, which stands for Automated Platform for Organoids, Liver, and Lab On-chip, aims to develop an automated 3D cell culture platform based on liver models integrated into an Organ-on-Chip device.

The goal is to reproduce, on a very small scale, certain physiological conditions of the liver in order to better evaluate biotherapies, particularly in terms of pharmacokinetics and toxicity.

The platform is based on an integrated system combining 12 Organ-on-Chip chips, a microfluidic unit, and an automated system capable of controlling various experimental parameters, such as temperature, oxygenation, medium circulation, molecule injection, and sampling.

By offering preclinical models that more closely mimic living organisms, APOLLO aims to improve the predictive power of trials, automate experimental protocols, and reduce the use of animal models.

DEMGY Frasne: From Biochip to Industrialization

Within the APOLLO project, DEMGY Frasne is addressing a key challenge: the design and manufacture of biochips and microfluidic flow structures.

Thanks to its expertise in micro-injection molding of engineering and high-performance polymers, the site is working in particular on the development of a TPX chip, a transparent Thermoplastic suited to the project’s optical and biological observation requirements.

Micro-structuring of molds, control of surface roughness, precision of microchannels, TPX injection, and laser welding assembly: each step requires extremely high precision to ensure the reproducibility of the biochips and to prepare for their future industrialization.

The project thus draws on the full range of expertise at DEMGY Frasne, from design and tooling through Micro-injection molding, assembly in ISO 7 & 8 cleanrooms, quality control, and packaging.

An innovation developed with an ecosystem of experts

The APOLLO project brings together several complementary areas of expertise in microfluidics and biological models.

It is being developed in partnership with Fluigent, a specialist in microfluidic instrumentation; the BMBI joint research unit, a collaboration between the CNRS and the University of Technology of Compiègne; and the LIMMS laboratory, resulting from a collaboration between the University of Tokyo and the CNRS.

By bringing together scientific, biological, technological, and industrial expertise, APOLLO aims to contribute to the development of new methods for evaluating biopharmaceuticals that are more effective and more closely mimic living systems.
