GIFAS Learning expedition
On October 29, GIFAS (Groupement des Industries Françaises Aéronautiques et Spatiales) organized its Learning Expedition, an initiative designed to promote careers in aeronautics and space to the general public and the media.
Through this Press Tour, GIFAS sought to highlight the career paths and innovations that are shaping the future of the sector. Several media outlets were present: La Tribune, Studyrama, France 3 Normandie, Ici Normandie, as well as the influencer *Maintenant j'aime le lundi.
Among the most striking testimonials was that of Giani Bianzina, an employee at DEMGY Normandie, which perfectly illustrates the company's dynamic approach. Having joined as a work-study student, he was able to progress thanks to the support and opportunities offered by the group, eventually becoming a project manager. His career path demonstrates DEMGY's ability to develop internal skills and offer real career prospects
DEMGY Normandy: innovation and growth
Specializing in the design of high-performance plastic parts that make aircraft lighter by replacing aluminum, DEMGY Normandie is experiencing sustained growth. In 2025, the plant has already recruited 17 new employees, bringing its workforce to 120. The year 2026 looks set to be just as dynamic, with around ten additional recruitments planned.
Across the group, which has 10 industrial sites, including four in France, 40 new hires will strengthen the teams in 2026.
Promoting skills and meeting challenges
This rapid growth comes with recruitment challenges, particularly in machining professions. As Benjamin Verger, HR Director at DEMGY, points out:
“We are struggling to recruit for these professions, where our needs are greatest. This is due to the low attractiveness of these training programs, even though demand from regional companies is high.”
To respond to this tension, DEMGY plans to transfer some employees from the automotive segment—which is facing a decline—to its aerospace activities. This strategy illustrates the group's ability to adapt and leverage its internal skills.
Normandy, a strategic territory
Through this Learning Expedition, GIFAS and DEMGY demonstrated that Normandy is now a strategic region for aeronautics and space. Driven by innovation, growth, and the commitment of its industrial players, the region is establishing itself as a key hub for meeting the challenges of tomorrow.
