PEI

Are you looking for transparent, high-temperature resistant, highly mechanically and dielectrically rigid engineering plastic parts? Polyetherimide or PEI is the right material for you. Trust DEMGY: we are a specialist in the processing and machining of this high-performance thermoplastic.

PEI: its properties and numerous advantages

Known under the trade name ULTEM®, PEI is a thermoplastic with exceptional thermal, electrical and mechanical properties. Rigid and very resistant, it has the same qualities as polyarysulfones. Thanks to its resistance to creep at high temperatures, it can be continuously transformed at high temperatures. PEI has high strength and dielectric strength, and is remarkably heat resistant. It also maintains good tensile stability of about 40 N/mm² at 175°C with a flexural modulus of elasticity of 2300 N/mm².

However, it is sensitive to halogenated hydrocarbons such as methylene chloride and trichloroethane. The characteristics of PEI make it a very popular material for the manufacture of medical imaging equipment. It is also valued in the chemical, electronics, energy and aerospace industries for its high frequency isolation and resistance to high energy radiation.

Why trust DEMGY?

DEMGY has been working since 1938 in the transformation and machining of engineering plastics. Thanks to our expertise and our important park of equipment and material, we are today able to work several materials: Polyimide, PCTFE, PTFE, PFA, PVDF, PEI, PSU, ETFE, FEP, PES, PEEK, PA, POM, PPS and PAI.

According to your needs, we can work them by molding, compression, extrusion or injection. We can produce semi-finished products as well as machined parts. We are at your service for the production of prototypes, but also for the production of small, medium or large series.
